The DVLA are expecting to make around £80 million next year from sales of their new private number plates containing ‘10’.
The confidence of the Swansea-based vehicle authority is backed up by the high demand show in these personalised plates so far. These 10 (and 60) number plates to mark the year 2010 will go on sale from next week.
Many car registration plates will be auctioned by the DVLA and you can get hold of one of these hot new plates at the auction, while some will also be available for purchase online.
A spokesperson for the DVLA has admitted:
“There is more interest in the 10 series. We’ve had hundreds of inquiries already so the market is going to be very strong.”
If you want to be one of the select few who manage to purchase one of these exclusive private plates then you need to be ready on 1st December.
DVLA Personalised Registrations’ Marketing Manager Damien Lawson expects the plates to create market demand for a whole new range of new letter and number combinations when he said:
“The new 10 series, which identify vehicles registered from March 1, 2010, will open up a whole new avenue of private plates and will go on sale on Tuesday, December 1.”
