The DVLA are gearing up for their last auction of the year, and it looks like it’s going to be a little cracker.
Bucking current trends due to the economic climate, the DVLA announced that this year’s monthly sales are up on those of 2008. Massive interest has already been shown for the 10 series number plates- which are due to go on sale on the 1st December- and these are sure to add to the agency’s growing success.
The 3 day auction starts on the 2nd December, and comes at the perfect time, as a recent survey has shown that 1 in 5 personalised number plates are bought as gifts for friends and family.
The auction will feature 1,500 number plates, which would make the perfect Christmas present for any motorist.
Marketing manager for DVLA Personalised Registrations, Damian Lawson, said:
“With monthly year-on-year sales already up and the public’s desire to provide truly personal presents, we really are extremely optimistic we are able to raise the bar yet again in terms of sales for December.
“There is undoubtedly a sway by members of the public willing to go that extra step to provide a unique gift, one that is truly a gift for life, which is exactly what a personalised registration is.”
