National Numbers loves to quote on dateless registration plates because they are like antiques, and as such, any individual dateless plate will command an individual price.
For example, a person who isn't knowledgeable on plates, probably would price MBE 234 very similar to say SME 234. In reality there is a very big price difference. Why I hear you ask?
The fact it is all based on statistics. To sell a 3 letter dateless registration plates there may be around 14,000 of this combination in the country, were as MBE there are probably quarter of a million people with that combination.
Therefore the probability is you would sell those a lot more easily.
