DVLA Plate

When DVLA, Swansea came to the end of the alphabet with the prefix year identifier "Y", they had already undertaken extensive consultation with reference to a suitable new - style format. The "Z" prefix was not available, as this had been used for Northern Ireland marks, so the new style format chosen consists of two identifiers at the front followed by two age identifying numbers with three letters at the end allocated at random. Hence, a typical DVLA plate from September 2001 would represented by NU51 XVW. The general public have taken a long time to become a accustomed to the unfamiliar appearance of the new DVLA plate.

If this is your first venture into buying a personalised plate then we would like to put your mind at ease. The whole ethos behind our business is customer satisfaction and that's why we have gone to the trouble and expense of becoming registered to BSI Quality Mark. For this reason, we are not allowed to make up our testimonials, as we have to account to British Standards for their authenticity. We are inspected annually by a BSI inspector and you can be assured that we will put the same care into carrying out your transfer as for all our other thousands of satisfied customers over the last quarter of a century.
