The three number plates used on the mini cooper cars in the 1969 film were sold for £19,800 by the Cheffin's auction house according to MSN. Each number plate was related to something specific in the film. GPF 146G came from the Grand Prix flag, HMP 729G was Caine's prison number and LGW 809G was the gang's flight number.
