Number plates from the iconic car featured in the Michael Caine film , The Italian Job have sold for nearly £20,000.
The three number plates used on the mini cooper cars in the 1969 film were sold for £19,800 by the Cheffin's auction house
according to MSN. Each number plate was related to something specific in the film. GPF 146G came from the Grand
Prix flag, HMP 729G was Caine's prison number and LGW 809G was the gang's flight number.
Since the film was made the plates have been in the hands of private collectors and were bought as one lot by a private
collector.
A Cheffins spokesman said : "This is a fantastic result."
