More Number Plate Thefts
Police in the Rye area of Hastings have issued warnings to residents following yet another number plate theft.
Police are advising owners of older-style number plates to use tamper-proof bolts to secure their acrylic number plates, following the theft of both sets of number plates from Grove resident Rosalind Collier. The plates were swiped in broad daylight last weekend.
The problem with older style acrylic plates is that they do not shatter when a thief tries to remove them.
New style acrylic number plates tend to shatter when any type of force is exerted on them.
Police believe thieves are targeting number plates to spoof their vehicles at garage forecourts, allowing circumvention of camera technology in the forecourt.
Keep safe out there! If you need to change your old acrylic plates for newer versions, just visit our acrylic number plates web site at www.nationalnumbers.co.uk/acrylic, or telephone our sales team on 01642 363738.
