Founded in 1892, Newcastle United play at St James’ Park which has a capacity of over 52,000.
The Magpies have a rich history, dominating British football prior to the Second World War, winning the league 4 times and FA Cup 3 times, but were relegated in the 1933-34 season. They won the FA Cup 3 more times in the 1950s, but spent much of the rest of the 21st century bouncing between the leagues.
Newcastle had a resurgence under Kevin Keegan during the 1990s, coming close to winning the league and developing a bitter rivalry with Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United, ultimately falling short of the champion’s mark.
After a 2006 sale to Mike Ashley, The Magpies have struggled to regain their former glory, bouncing between the Premier League and Championship.
