British sprinting icon, Iwan Thomas, was handed the baton at today’s DVLA auction as he took bids on two number plates.
The world of personalised reg plates is fast-paced and highly competitive, but the Olympic Silver-medallist didn’t false start under the pressure.
The record-holding athlete later said he was “not going to give up the day job just yet”, though the crowd would gladly welcome him back again.
Iwan Thomas, MBE, auctioned-off RUN 3R and REL 44Y, each going for £1,900 and £500 respectively.
The London auction has an Olympic-theme with such registrations as EN61 AND, HAM 333R, RUN 100M and many more put up for sale.
