Once upon a time, Jack was simply a nickname for someone called John. These days Jack is a very common boys name in the UK and Ireland. It also holds other meanings, such as being a term for man or male, and also as part of key phrases such as Jack the Lad and Jack of All Trades.
Unfortunately, Jack is bookended by awkward letters J and K which don't have a numbered look-a-like to make the name easy to add to a number plate. However, successful variations include J4 CK+ (where + is another letter, such as an initial), +JA 6K, or simply JAK. We have also seen JAC used as an abbreviation, more commonly for Jacqueline though.
