The MG Car Company was once a British sports car manufacturer. Many will remember fondly the company's early history creating their signature two-seated sports cars, as well as their saloons and coupes. It has since moved to new owners. MG merged with Austin in 1952 and then later was bought by the Chinese company Nanjing Automobile Group, which itself merged with SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) in 2007, which remains its current owner.
DVLA starting issuing MG number plates in 1930, about six years ago MG was founded. Back then there was not much of a number plate industry, but hopefully some lucky owners found their newly registered MG sports cars with a matching MG number plate. The reverse of the MG plates was never originally issued, meaning they would eventually go to auction. Over 100 of these have sold, including 1 MG for £9,500, but there are still hundreds available.
As you can see from the list above there are plenty of MG plates available at a wide range of prices. Everything from single digit prefixes to original releases. You can also at an extra letter, so as an initial or a neutral 'X', to open up even more options. If you are stuck for options though you can also call 01642 363738 to speak to our Sales Team. Their experience and knowledge of the market should allow them to direct you to a plate that is perfect for your car and your pocket.
