Watford have been a football club since 1881, changing its identity from Watford Rovers to Watford Football Club in 1898. The club moved to the ground they still play at today, Vicarage Road, in 1922.
Graham Taylor is Watford’s most well known manager, and between the years of 1977 and 1987 pulled the team from the fourth to the first division, competing in the UEFA Cup in 1983 and reaching the 1984 FA Cup Final.
After spending much of the 21st century between The Championship and Premier League, Watford currently reside in the top tier of English football, having competed in the Premier League since 2015.
