Burnley have been crowned champions of England twice and went 30 games unbeaten in their first league-winning campaign in 1920. They are one of five teams to win all top four professional divisions of English football.
Burnley were relagated to the third division in the 1980s and faced dissolution, saving themselves from relegation to the Football Conference with a last minute win against Orient, just 25 years after winning the league for the second time with mostly young local players.
The Clarets made their way back through the divisions, eventually being promoted to the Premier League on three occasions between 2008 and 2015. In the 2013-2014 season, Sean Dyche took over management of the club, taking a depleted squad with a tight budget, tipped for relegation to 2nd in the Championship, and gaining automatic promotion.
Under Sean Dyche, Burnley still compete in The Premier League, and are the smallest town to host a Premier League club.
