I was looking for a particular numer plate which i found out had never been assigned to a vehicle and therefore had to be released by means of the DVLA auction. I first contacted the well known company 'reg transfers' who quoted me a final price of just under 5 grand (inc all taxes and taxes on taxes!, transfer fees etc). I then contacted National Numbers who managed to secure it at auction for me at (final all inc price) just under 1.5 grand!!!! Go figure. Don't go anywhere else until you've spoken to these guys first. I spoke to Phil who was very helpful. Highly recommended by a satisfied and grateful (for saving me money) customer!
Approached many other number plate resellers and they all quoted me between £400 and £500 for my plate. National Numbers quoted three times that but explained it might take a while to sell at that price. I was prepared to wait and have just received £1200 (having accepted an offer). The process was completely painless, stunningly fast (with an immediate bank transfer) and I had a real, helpful person at National Numbers to speak to throughout. Initally my request for a number plate was overseen and not put into a DVLA auction. Three months later the plate was won @ the DVLA auction as promised. The whole experience was smooth and uneventful and meant that I won the desired number plate for less than half the price it was offered to me by the rival company REG TRANSFERS....!
