How do I know if a plate is compatible with my vehicle?
The golden rule is that a personalised registration cannot make a vehicle appear newer than it actually is. This means you can’t put a 26 series registration on a car from the 90s. However, as long as the plate’s age identifier is appropriate for the vehicle and DVLA rules, the registration can usually be assigned.
