Can I put a prefix number plate on any car?
You can assign a prefix number plate to most vehicles, as long as it does not make the vehicle appear newer than it is. Because prefix registrations include an age identifier, they must match the age of the vehicle or be older. For example, a G-prefix plate (1989) can go on any vehicle registered from August 1989 onwards, but not on an older car.
