Can Number Plate Screws Go Through the Characters?
Fixings are not automatically illegal because they pass through or sit close to a character. The issue is whether they obscure the character or change its appearance.
A badly positioned screw could make one letter or number resemble another. Fixings that affect legibility can make the plate illegal and may result in an MOT failure.
