What Should I Do If My Number Plate Is Cracked or Faded?
Replace the plate if cracking, fading, peeling or delamination affects its legibility, background colour or reflective surface.
An excessively damaged or deteriorated plate can cause an MOT failure. Replacement plates should be ordered from a registered number plate supplier using proof of identity and entitlement to the registration.
