Can you use suffix number plates on any car?
Suffix registrations can be assigned to most vehicles, as long as they do not make the vehicle appear newer than it is. Because they include a year identifier, the suffix letter must match the age of the vehicle or be older. For example, a Y suffix plate (1982) can go on any vehicle registered from August 1982 onwards, but not on an older car.
